Week Fourteen

It's been a fairly quiet week, but as enjoyable as ever. On Tuesday, Big Tanya took a few of us to Big Mama and the WWII museum. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I loved it. I have this quirky thing for museums and this one was set up beautifully. I'm really glad I didn't go to this until the end of my experience here - I've been in that "I just want to go home I hate this place but not really" mode. Seeing WWII from an entirely different perspective changed me, and I have gained even more respect for this place and these people.

My favorite room in the museum was this one pictured above. It's a long room with a table down the middle with death notices of soldiers and empty glasses, which represents those who have fallen. Both walls were covered with photos of Ukrainians taken during WWII - they also had a display of just mothers, which was very touching.
Outside the museum were several monuments that I also really enjoyed. I love the strength that they show.

In Ukraine, they celebrate Easter the week after we do, so I got to celebrate it twice, which I loved! The traditional greeting giving this time of year is, "Христос воскрес!" The reply: "Воистину Воскресе!" Translated, this is: "Christ is risen!" "Truly He is risen!"
In conclusion, I'd like to let you all know I have exactly one week left. One week. That's SEVEN days. And because I can, here's some more photos of my adorable kids.
