I've been posting irregularly, and I apologize, but it's hard to post normally when you're always on the go. I'm posting Week Eleven a couple days early because I leave for the Eurotrip on Saturday morning. I'll try and post after every city, but no promises, okay?
Do you know that I only have four weeks left before I'm back in the States? It's 29 days, to be exact. Just thinking about that number makes me a little teary eyed - I don't know if I'm ready to go! But enough about sadness, let's talk about this week.
On Tuesday morning several of us were able to do baptisms at the temple. What an amazing experience! We each did 30 names, which is 25 more than I've ever done before. I think every single senior missionary and temple worker came to the baptistery during the course of our time there to see us - they were so excited! I love attending the temple and am looking forward to being back in Rexburg where I live half a block away.
Wednesday morning was spent exploring the Podil district. We mostly found a whole bunch of churches that were fairly small. But we did find something else that may or may not bless the lives of all the future ILP teachers in Kyiv - a Mexican restaurant. It's right off of the Palats Ukrayina metro stop; we haven't tried it yet, but I'm very excited. I'll keep you updated. Also, I'll update my online map on Track my Tour, so check it out to see where I am!
Steve, one of the ILP directors, was here for our mid-semester visits, which was pretty fun. He just comes to see how all of the kids are speaking and to hang out with us, make sure we're all doing peachy. Along with his fun personality, he brought real live Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and we each got 14 of them. It was a joyous occasion among the ILP teachers of Kyiv 2.
And that about sums up Week Eleven. If I'm able to post after every city this next week, you will probably be tired of hearing from me, but whatevs. I can't not share about my Eurotrip. And if I can't post anything until I get back, then there will be a whole bunch of blog posts all at once, and that'll be even more annoying. To make up for this, here's pictures and videos of my favorite kindergarten class:
