I can't believe I've already finished Week 9! This week was crazy hectic, and each day deserves at least a mention. Except Monday. Mondays don't usually deserve mentions.
We got back from L'viv on Monday morning, so nothing exciting happened. On Tuesday morning, Steven and I met up bright and early to find St. Volodymyr's Cathedral. We finished our adventure so sopping wet, but it was worth it. After finding St. Volodymyr's and taking sneaky pictures inside (shhhhh, we didn't want to pay 50 whole hryvnia for a photo), we took ourselves over to St. Sofia's and St. Michael's. We've been to both of those several times, but never really gone inside, so that was fun. St. Sofia's is actually quite a complex and we weren't able to go inside the main cathedral because it also cost a lot of money. But St. Michael's was open and quite beautiful inside. Honestly, cathedrals are one of my favorite things about Europe, and Eastern Europe certainly has a different style than Western Europe. We tried out a cute restaurant called Limonade for lunch - it was tasty, but not spectacular. Also, Steven felt that they took his adult card because his lemonade had a twisty straw and his soup had a pesto smiley face on it. I felt that it was hilarious. Tuesday night the majority of the group went out for dinner; we had sushi and enjoyed ourselves immensely.
On Wednesday morning, Mackay, Steven, and I took Alli to Piezazhna Aleye, which was super fun. We ended our walk down Andriivskii's Descent at the L'viv Chocolate Factory, obviously. I got the world's most delicious cup of hot cocoa.
Thursday morning was the usual, but in the evening, most of us went to the Chocolate Factory as a treat to almost finishing the week. There are quite a few of them in Kyiv and I am determined to try each one. And try everything on the menu. If you can't tell already, I'm definitely going to need to go on a diet when I get back to America.
The nine of us left for a three day vacation on Friday night, but I'll tell you all about that trip in the next blog post. Happy Week 10!
