Boating in Budapest

Budapest, Hungary was our first stop and the beginning of the best Spring Break ever. I was dehydrated and tired from the bus, getting a cold, and had a stomach ache, but I didn't let that stop me-Budapest was beautiful! We got there first thing in the morning for our tour, spent mid-morning at the thermal baths, explored on our own during the afternoon, and took a boat tour once it got dark. The Parliament building was spectacular, though I loved the Fisherman's Bastion.

The thermal baths were delightfully relaxing after spending a miserably long time on the bus. There were outside pools, inside pools of different minerals and temperatures, dry saunas, wet saunas, aroma saunas, a lap pool. You name it, they had it. Several of us tried to find the mud bath treatment and underwater jet massage, but you had to have a prescription; bummer!

On our own, Steven, Mallory, and I found the MTV building, Parliament, St. Stephen's Cathedral, and rode the metro. The metro in Budapest was this cute, small thing that was only about 20 steps down - a far cry from Kyiv, which has some of the deepest in Europe. Budapest also has bike roads, with the coolest little stop lights.

The boat tour was breathtaking. All of the buildings along the river were lit up beautifully. I didn't get great photos, but it's not really possible to capture the beauty.
