As both Kyiv groups have been adjusting to life in Ukraine, I've realized that a lot of people don't seem to understand that life here, or anywhere else, is not the same as life in America. To live in America really is such an incredible blessing - one that we mostly take for granted. When traveling - and living! - in another country, it is so, so, so important to be willing to accept new things. If you can't do that, then maybe, just maybe, traveling isn't for you. (FYI: This post is in no way aimed at any of my group-mates, just thoughts I've had as all of us have been settling in.)
Traveling isn't for picky eaters. Suck it up, try new things.
Traveling isn't for people who won't share a bedroom.
Traveling isn't for those who need to have a totally different outfit for every day of the month. So maybe you'll wear the same 7 or 8 shirts; there's really something quite freeing about living the minimalist lifestyle.
Traveling is not for people who don't like food from a bag. Ketchup, mayo, milk, yogurt, ice cream, etc.
Traveling isn't for super, double-thick mattress lovers.
Traveling is not for "This is America, we only speak English" people. If you hate not being able to understand what the people around you are saying, then traveling is not for you.

Traveling is not for charades haters.
Traveling isn't for people who can't live without their heating tools. Your blow dryer will explode if you try to use it here.

But mostly, traveling is not for those who don't want to step outside of their normal, everyday lives to experience something new! Sushi and pizza - Best. Combo. Ever.
