Well, you know, it's almost Thanksgiving, so here's my obligatory 'I'm Thankful For' post.
It's really not possible to write about everything I'm thankful for, 'cause the list would be practically endless. So I'd like to tell you about one thing I've been extremely grateful recently, which is kind and generous people. There are still lots of good people in this world, and I've been a recipient of that frequently.
I guess I'll take this in chronological order:
I'm grateful for the lady I met at the Denver Airport, who had to wait just as long as I did for the plane to Charlotte. It's hard to laugh when you've been in airplane land all day and your next flight doesn't leave until 1:00 in the morning.
I am also super thankful for the brave woman who comes to the Lofts 5 days a week at 6:00 in the morning to clean the whole building. Since I'm usually up and about while she's cleaning the first floor, we've become pretty good friends. Her daily kindness and charity never cease to amaze me.
But the people who have made my heart smile the most while here in Virginia are my roommates, Isabelle and Sara. I was incredibly nervous to live with two strange girls I'd never met, but I could not have picked two better girls to share such small quarters with. One blog post cannot do justice to all of the loud and off key singing, movie marathons, rants, laughing in our sleep, answering the phone in the shower, and all of our other stories that are probably only funny to us. I'm also pretty sure that there aren't too many other girls in this hallway that would put up with my political rants and random ejaculations about color guard stuff. I am extremely blessed to have these two amazing and beautiful young ladies in my life; I will certainly miss them when we part this spring, for this whole first-year-of-college thing would certainly suck without them.
I hope all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and know that I miss each and every one of you. Happy Thanksgiving!
P.S. For those who are worried, I will not be spending Turkey Day in the dorms with just a bowl of Ramen. Isabelle has family over in D.C., so I'm going to spend the break with them. I'm super excited because Isabelle also has a friend going to George Mason, and (among other things) he's planning on taking us to Arlington National Cemetery!
