We're Not in Idaho Anymore, Todo

That's right folks. I'm not in Idaho anymore. Try Virginia. Buena Vista, Virginia. My newest home away from home.

P.S. You pronounce it B-yoona Vista, not the assumed Spanish pronunciation. The story goes that they changed it during the Civil War so people knew who was actually from the area. This was Stonewall Jackson territory, after all.
So far, it's been pretty great. This humidity has taken some adjusting, but thankfully it hasn't been too hot. One thing I've really enjoyed is the fact that I can run two miles in less than 30 min. and not even be tired, which is a MAJOR improvement, even if it doesn't sound that awesome. (And I'm even going uphill for half of it!) Why is it so easy, you ask? Because the elevation is between 830-930 ft. And I was worried about my jogging class being hard...
I also get lots of exercise from just walking to classes. And dinner. And the pianos. Because I live on top of a hill. A real hill, not a fake Blackfoot hill.
As you can see, I has lots of stairses to climb. But the view is good, you just can't see it in this picture because of the fog. Basically, you can see the tops of the turrets of Main Hall, which looks like a giant red castle poking out of the trees.

And that folks, concludes our introduction to my new home! Welcome to Southern Virginia University. I absolutely LOVE having small classes with professors who sincerely care about me and my education. What an incredible difference from high school!

  1. Quinn, so glad you are loving it there. I have always thought SVU sounded like a great place and have known several people who loved their time there. I look forward to more photos and stories.
